The TK Liaison is the “quarterback”, so to speak, of TK goings on…the person in this role works with the TK teachers to establish and coordinate both the TK schedule and TK PV’s (including TK PV training), PV’s in the TK classroom 9 times during the school year, communicates TK related business to and from TK parents/teachers, organizes TK special activities/play dates, assists the Enrichment Coordinator when necessary with TK fieldtrips, and assists the Admissions Chair with the TK piece of Admissions (fielding questions from and arranging tours for prospective families, as well as managing the TK waitlist). The TK Liaison is designated as a Board Member representing TK and is therefore required to attend monthly board meetings. Anyone needing an issue addressed related to TK should consult with the TK Liaison. The TK Liaison will then contact all necessary parties to draw a resolution to the issue. There are four components to the TK Liaison role: TK Admissions: duties include fielding phone calls from the public regarding interest in TK, recruiting and coordinating new families for TK admission selection and lottery, organizing school tours/interviews in conjunction with the Teachers, answering TK related questions from prospective TK families, assisting the Admissions Chair with the TK piece of the February Application/Lottery/Admissions Day, and managing the TK wait list. TK Board Seat: duties include attending the monthly Board meeting as the TK representative and voting on TK's behalf. TK Class Coordination: duties include working with the Teachers prior to the start of school to assign TK PV’s and organize the TK schedule, working with the Lead Teacher to train TK PV’s, PV’ing in the TK classroom once a month (nine (9) times during the school year, communicating TK business to TK families throughout the year, assisting the Enrichment Coordinator when necessary with TK enrichment fieldtrips (assistance may be needed in collecting permission slips from TK families, leading the TK group at fieldtrip locale, or possibly making/organize kids signing/sending thank you notes). TK Outside Activity Coordination: duties include arranging TK special activities/play dates, organizing TK special circumstances (welcoming a new student, organizing a farewell for a departing student), and planning holiday parties.
