Designated as a Board Member and is therefore required to attend monthly Board meetings. Coordinates all business pertaining to the Schoolhouse. Schedules and conducts monthly and additional meetings. Attends monthly Classroom Support meetings as needed and assists Classroom Support Chair in teacher evaluations. Acts as a liaison with the Treasurer between the Schoolhouse and financial institutions. The President of the Board of Directors shall serve as the liaison to the Board of Trustees and schedules and conducts bi-annual meetings with the Board of Trustees. One meeting shall be held in the fall and include Board members of the Administrative Team with minutes to be made available to the Board. The second meeting shall occur in May when the incoming and outgoing board members are present. Additional meetings may be scheduled with the Board of Trustees on an as needed basis. An end of year update shall be provided to the Board of Trustees via e-mail. Conducts annual admissions lottery with the Admissions Chair in early February. Serves as a member of the Hiring Committee for teacher selection. Is supported by the Vice President, Treasurer, and Accounts manager(s). The president should be a returning family with a well-rounded knowledge of the Schoolhouse. Previous Board of Directors experience prior to appointment as president is preferred. An individual may serve as president more than once, provided the Nominating Committee officially determines this person should be submitted in the proposed slate of officers. Board approval is required for a president to serve consecutive terms.

Takes minutes of the Board and general meetings and prepares these for distribution to Board and Board of Trustees and posts minutes for CSH parents within a week of the meeting. Responsible for communication with parents as Editor of the CSH monthly newsletter and collaborates with Technology Coordinator in designing, updating, and maintaining content on the Schoolhouse website. Serves as moderator of the Yahoo Group for the school. Supports general clerical needs of the Cooperative. The Schoolhouse seal shall be used by the VP/ Secretary to mark official copies of documents. Maintains and updates the Parent/Policy Handbook to be distributed at the General Meeting. Assists the President as needed. Acts as CSH Historian by maintaining an annual archive of Schoolhouse Information. Updates monthly calendar with Lunch Bunch, B&G and Classroom Schedules, distributing to the Coop families. Creates and maintains the CSH phone tree for the morning and TK program. Coordinates with the Technology Coordinator group in updating the website monthly. Coordinates any use and/or rental of Schoolhouse facilities. Assists the CSC Chairperson, on a need basis, in the clerical needs of the creation, distribution, compilation of parent surveys, excluding all requested confidential information provided by parents.
Designated as a Board Member and is therefore required to attend monthly Board meetings. Maintains all financial records. Responsible for all Schoolhouse disbursements, deposits, and banking affairs. Ensures that all bills are paid timely and income due is received. Responsible for preparation of financial forms, including payroll forms and related taxes. Works with the In-coming President and Budget Committee to prepare annual budget. Works with the Account Manager(s) and Admissions Chairperson regarding scholarship applications. Works in tandem with the Fundraising Team by supporting Schoolhouse Carnival and other fundraisers throughout the year. Works with Summer Camp coordinator on all financial / employment issues related to camp. Prepares financial reports for board meetings.
Responsible for assessment and collection of all tuition, fees, and fines. Prepares, distributes, and collects folders on a monthly basis. Maintains current tuition records as well as late arrival and late payment records. Works directly with families who have questions about tuition. Works in tandem with Treasurer on various financial matters, including scholarship applications. Checks the Schoolhouse mailbox regularly throughout summer and school year, directing mail accordingly. Once Temporary Account Manager’s systems are in place, this job will be redefined as Revenue or Expense Manager, as determined by the Treasurer.
The intent of this job is to work with the Treasurer to create better systems of control for the Schoolhouse as identified by the previous board. The first part of the year will be spent on assessing our current financial system and working to put in place new processes and procedures that will provide continuity, internal controls, and minimize conflicts of interests. These new procedures, as well as, all Handbook updates should be implemented no later than February 1, 2010. Once systems are in place, this job will take on the role of Revenue or Expense Manager, as determined by the Treasurer.
